Tuesday To-Do List 7/25/2023

Welcome to another To-Do Tuesday! It's time once again to share how I did on last Tuesday's to-do list, (it has actually been two weeks since my previous list,) then figure out what I'd like to get done in the week ahead. The To-Do Tuesday link-up is hosted by Carol at Quilt Schmilt: For the Love of Fabric.

Having an extra week between posts made it much easier to complete everything on my last to-do list. In fact, many of the items on the list had even more done than planned in that additional time.

To-Do List for 7/11 - 7/17/2023
1. Modern Quilt Studio Mystery--remake a few blocks (change colors) ✔done
I reworked one batch of blocks, then made the final set of blocks for the mystery. You can see them all in yesterday's post.

2. Rainbow Scrap Challenge 16-Patch Stars--make 2 red blocks  ✔done

3.
A Maze Zing--make 2 blocks (red or Christmas)  ✔done
I made 3 red blocks, plus 4 blocks from Christmas fabrics. I'm having lots of fun making these blocks.

4. National Quilt Museum BOM--make Block #3      ✔done
I'm not wild about how my block turned out, but at least it's done.

5. Guild Christmas Market--it's time to figure out what I'm going to make for this sale  ✔partially done
The A Maze Zing blocks in Christmas fabrics shown above are going to become a set of placemats. I'm also going to make more of the Diva wallet that we learned in a guild workshop in May (see that HERE.)

It looks like another busy week around our house, and I should probably go with a shorter list, but I'm going to be optimistic and try to get through several different projects. Wish me luck!

To-Do List for 7/25 - 7/31
1. Modern Quilt Studio Mystery--start joining blocks
2. RSC Jabberwocky--make 2 red blocks
3. A Maze Zing--finish 2 Christmas placemats
5. Guild Christmas Market--make 1 Diva wallet

That will be enough to keep me busy for the week ahead. I'll report on my progress next Tuesday, and post a new set of goals too. I'm linking up with other To-Do Tuesday lists at Quilt Schmilt.

Tuesday To-Do List 7/11/2023

Welcome to another To-Do Tuesday! It's time once again to share how I did on last Tuesday's to-do list, then figure out what I'd like to get done in the week ahead. The To-Do Tuesday link-up is hosted by Carol at Quilt Schmilt: For the Love of Fabric.

The July 4th holiday got in the way of posting last week. Even with an extra week to work through my list, I ended up with fewer items checked off than I'd hoped. Maybe the next week will be better.

To-Do List for 6/27 - 7/3/2023
1. Moda Blockheads quilt top--add borders   not done
I'd planned to add the borders to this quilt top, but decided that I don't like the fabric I had previously chosen and need to buy something else.
2. A Maze Zing--make sample with Christmas fabrics   not done
3. ABC Table Scraps Challenge--finish light blue project     ✔done
I made one placemat using leftovers from another project, plus two more placemats from orphan blocks.

4. Modern Quilt Studio Mystery--make third set of blocks   ✔done
This mystery has been consuming most of my quilting time and is the main reason that my other projects have been neglected over the past two weeks. Below are the blocks I made  most recently for Week #5. You can see many more blocks in yesterday's post HERE.

5. Rainbow Scrap Challenge 16-Patch Stars--make 2 red blocks  not done

I'm hoping to get back to some of my ongoing projects this week and be a little less obsessed with the mystery quilt. We'll see how that goes!

Good morning and welcome to another To-Do Tuesday! It's time once again to share how I did on last Tuesday's to-do list, then figure out what I'd like to get done in the week ahead. The To-Do Tuesday link-up is hosted by Carol at Quilt Schmilt: For the Love of Fabric.

It was a very good week for the to-do list, with all four items being completed!

To-Do List for 6/20 - 6/26/2023
1. Perfectly Pieced Quilt Backs blog hop--write my post   ✔done
I shared my Toppling Tower quilt back HERE. You can read more about Kelly's wonderful new book and find links to the other bloggers who participated in the blog tour at My Quilt Infatuation.

Toppling Tower quilt back

2. A Maze Zing--make light blue block   ✔done

These are the first two sets of blocks together.

4. Rainbow Scrap Challenge 16-Patch Stars--make 2 blocks   ✔done
One light green and one light blue block done.

My list for the next week includes one older UFO, plus a sample for a new idea, along with the ongoing projects.

To-Do List for 6/27 - 7/3/2023
1. Moda Blockheads quilt top--add borders
I made blocks as part of the original Moda Blockheads QAL starting in 2017. The blocks were completed and joined together in 2021. I would love to finish the borders on this quilt top, just in time for July 4th!

3. ABC Table Scraps Challenge--finish light blue project
4. Modern Quilt Studio Mystery--make third set of blocks

Tuesday To-Do List 6/20/2023

Good morning and welcome to another To-Do Tuesday! It's time once again to share how I did on last Tuesday's to-do list, then figure out what I'd like to get done in the week ahead. The To-Do Tuesday link-up is hosted by Carol at Quilt Schmilt: For the Love of Fabric.

I knew that my list from last week was ambitious, and I am happy to see that I managed to complete four of the five items on that list.

To-Do List for 6/13 - 6/19/2023
1. Get outdoor photos of recent finishes   ✔done

2. A Maze Zing workshop--get my supplies together  ✔done
The guild workshop with Candace Hassen was great, and I ended up with two finished A Maze Zing blocks that measure about 13" x 19". I'm planning to continue making these each month as part of the Rainbow Scrap Challenge.

3. National Quilt Museum BOM--make Block #2   ✔done
I wasn't crazy about the design of the second block, but after some tweaking with the layout and colors, I was happier with my version.

4. Modern Quilt Studio Mystery--make first set of blocks   ✔done
I finished set #1 yesterday and made a start on set #2.

5. Rainbow Scrap Challenge 16-Patch Stars--make 2 blocks  not done

The first item on my new list needs to happen TODAY. Everything else is negotiable through the coming week.

To-Do List for 6/20 - 6/26/2023
1. Perfectly Pieced Quilt Backs blog hop--write my post
Kelly Young has a new book being released tomorrow, and I have a pieced backing to share as part of the blog hop.
2. A Maze Zing workshop--make light blue block
3. Modern Quilt Studio Mystery--make second set of blocks

That will be enough to keep me busy for the week ahead. I'll report on my progress next Tuesday, and post a new set of goals too. I'm linking up with other To-Do Tuesday lists at Quilt Schmilt.

To-Do Tuesday 5/23/2023

I'm continuing to squeeze in quilting time between working a few days this week. It's making me really appreciate retirement and the freedom to quilt as much as I wish. Here are the results from my last to-do list, plus a new list for the week ahead. The To-Do Tuesday link-up is hosted by Carol at Quilt Schmilt: For the Love of Fabric.

Having a short list for the past week worked out well, with all three items getting finished.

To-Do List for 5/16 - 5/22/2023
1. Ring Around the Stars--finish hanging sleeve and label for exhibit   ✔done
This has been finished and the quilt delivered to the exhibit location.

2. Prep for wallet class at quilt guild  ✔done
We had a great class on Thursday, and I was able to finish my Diva wallet by the end of the class. I'm planning to make a few more to be sold at the guild's Christmas market.

3. Rainbow Scrap Challenge--make 1st set of orange blocks  ✔done
I finished two orange 16-Patch Stars blocks, shown here with the purple blocks from April.

Once again, the list is a short one to fit with my busy week. I'm looking forward to a three-day holiday weekend!

To-Do Tuesday 5/16/2023

The past week has included cataract surgery for my guy, plus I have been working several days. All of these things have really cut into my quilting time, and the results on the to-do list reflect that. Here are the results from my last to-do list, plus a new list for the week ahead. The To-Do Tuesday link-up is hosted by Carol at Quilt Schmilt: For the Love of Fabric.

I finished three of the items on my last list, made progress on one more, and didn't touch the other. I'm down to wire on a couple of these now.

To-Do List for 5/9 - 5/15/23
1. Ring Around the Stars--add hanging sleeve and label for exhibit  3/4 done

2. Purple placemats--quilt/finish    ✔done
The two placemats are finished and ready to be donated to Meals on Wheels.

3. National Quilt Museum BOM--make 1st block   ✔done
I had a great time making this block!

4. Prep for wallet class at quilt guild
not done

5. Rainbow Scrap Challenge--start 1st set of orange blocks  ✔done
I pulled out orange squares and strips for my 16-Patch Stars blocks, but haven't stitched anything yet.

I am keeping the to-do list for the next week very short because I expect to continue working several days in the coming week. The first two items both need to get done today, and after that I can relax a bit more.

To-Do List for 5/16 - 5/22/2023
1. Ring Around the Stars--finish hanging sleeve and label for exhibit
2. Prep for wallet class at quilt guild
3. Rainbow Scrap Challenge--make 1st set of orange blocks

That will be enough to keep me busy for the week ahead. I'll report on my progress next Tuesday, and post a new set of goals too. I'm linking up with other To-Do Tuesday lists at Quilt Schmilt.

To-Do Tuesday 5/9/2023

My last Tuesday to-do list was posted three weeks ago, although I would have guessed that it was only two. Time flies! We have been traveling, including going to the big quilt show in Paducah, which is always a treat. Now I just need to get back into the routine here at home. Here are the results from my last to-do list, plus a new list for the week ahead. The To-Do Tuesday link-up is hosted by Carol at Quilt Schmilt: For the Love of Fabric.

I finished three of the items on my last list, plus made progress on the fourth. I've also worked on some other projects during the extra weeks.

To-Do List for 4/18 - 4/24/2023
1. Flannel baby quilt--quilt and finish   ✔done
I finished this baby quilt, but forgot to get a photo before turning it in at our guild meeting.

2. Pretty in Purple--add larger borders to 4-patch side, prep for quilting  ✔done
This quilt is completely finished, and you can read about it and see more photos HERE.

Pretty in Purple, 35" x 47"

3. Rainbow Scrap Challenge--make a set of purple blocks  ✔done
I finished two sets of blocks for the RSC--Rail Fence and Jabberwocky.

Purple Jabberwocky blocks, pattern in "The Block Book" by Judy Martin

4. Continue working on clearing off cutting table  progress
The cutting table was looking better before our trip, but is back to being a disaster area since.

I've been jotting down possibilities for my next to-do list, but ended up with way too many things to finish in a week. Here is the shorter version.

To-Do List for 5/9 - 5/15/23
1. Ring Around the Stars--add hanging sleeve and label for exhibit
2. Purple placemats--quilt/finish
3. National Quilt Museum BOM--make 1st block
4. Prep for wallet class at quilt guild
5. Rainbow Scrap Challenge--start 1st set of orange blocks

That's will be more than enough to keep me busy for the week ahead. I'll report on my progress next Tuesday, and post a new set of goals too. I'm linking up with other To-Do Tuesday lists at Quilt Schmilt.

To-Do Tuesday 4/18/2023

It's time once again to share how I did on last Tuesday's to-do list, then figure out what I'd like to get done in the week ahead. The To-Do Tuesday link-up is hosted by Carol at Quilt Schmilt: For the Love of Fabric.

I didn't finish everything on last week's list, mostly because I became a little bit obsessed with the purple 9-patch quilt. We also spent some time getting our vegetable garden planted, which is always an exciting day!

To-Do List for 4/11 - 4/17/2023
1. Flannel baby quilt--quilt and finish  progress
I didn't get this quilt finished, but the layers have been stitched together around the outside edges and turned. All that's left is to close up the opening, then do some quick quilting.
2. Purple 9-Patches--finish making blocks, decide on setting plan  ✔done
Not only were the blocks finished and a plan figured out, but the quilt top is complete and I know how I want to finish it. You can read more in THIS POST.

3. Rainbow Scrap Challenge--make another set of purple blocks  not done
4. Continue working on clearing off cutting table    ✔done

My list for the next week looks very much like the previous list. I need to catch up on my RSC projects, plus finish the baby quilt to turn in at our guild meeting on Thursday.

To-Do List for 4/18 - 4/24/2023
1. Flannel baby quilt--quilt and finish
2. Pretty in Purple--add larger borders to 4-patch side, prep for quilting
3. Rainbow Scrap Challenge--make a set of purple blocks
4. Continue working on clearing off cutting table

That's the plan for the week ahead. I'll report on my progress next Tuesday, and post a new set of goals too. I'm linking up with other To-Do Tuesday lists at Quilt Schmilt.

To-Do Tuesday 4/11/2023

It's time once again to share how I did on last Tuesday's to-do list, then figure out what I'd like to get done in the week ahead. The To-Do Tuesday link-up is hosted by Carol at Quilt Schmilt: For the Love of Fabric.

I worked on some of the quilts from last week's list, plus threw in a couple of unplanned projects. I've even been doing a little bit of cleaning up of my cutting table (badly needed!)

To-Do List for 4/4 - 4/10/2023
1. Quilt guild BOM--add border #6   ✔done
I completed this border and am thinking about making an even bigger quilt. You can see some progress in yesterday's post, and I will share more photos later in the week.
2. Rainbow Scrap Challenge--make 1 set of purple blocks   ✔done
I made two purple 16-Patch Star blocks, shared in Saturday's post.
3. Pickle Dish--cutting, maybe some piecing   nothing done

Besides the projects on my list, I was also able to take part in a guild sewing day last week. We worked on simple baby quilts from pre-cut kits, and I managed to get this top put together. The fabrics are all flannels.

Another project that I pulled out last week was these purple 9-patch blocks. I had been sent a pile of 1.5" squares of light and purple fabrics several years ago, and occasionally I would make more 9-patches from them. I'm getting close to using up all the squares and decided it was time to figure out a plan for them. This is the start of a setting idea.

To-Do List for 4/11 - 4/17/2023
1. Flannel baby quilt--quilt and finish
2. Purple 9-Patches--finish making blocks, decide on setting plan
3. Rainbow Scrap Challenge--make another set of purple blocks
4. Continue working on clearing off cutting table

That's the plan for the week ahead. I'll report on my progress next Tuesday, and post a new set of goals too. I'm linking up with other To-Do Tuesday lists at Quilt Schmilt.

To-Do Tuesday 4/4/2023

It's time once again to share how I did on last Tuesday's to-do list, then figure out what I'd like to get done in the week ahead. The To-Do Tuesday link-up is hosted by Carol at Quilt Schmilt: For the Love of Fabric.

Somehow I missed posting my to-do list last week, although there was certainly plenty that needed to be done around here! Here's how I did with that list over the past two weeks.

To-Do List for 3/21 - 3/27/2023
1. Ruler Quilting Challenge--keep up with the lessons   ✔done
I kept up pretty well and ended up with four finished placemats.

2.
Jabberwocky--make 3 green blocks for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge  ✔done

3.
Rainbow Scrap Challenge--cut greens for Rail Fence blocks and begin piecing   ✔done

4.
Pickle Dish--cutting, maybe some piecing?  nothing done

I'm sticking with another short list for the week ahead.

To-Do List for 4/4 - 4/10/2023
1. Quilt guild BOM--add border #6
2. Rainbow Scrap Challenge--pull out purple scraps, make 1 set of blocks
3. Pickle Dish--cutting, maybe some piecing (one of these weeks I'll actually make some progress on this!)

That's the plan for the week ahead. I'll report on my progress next Tuesday, and post a new set of goals too. I'm linking up with other To-Do Tuesday lists at Quilt Schmilt.

To-Do Tuesday 3/21/2023

It's time once again to share how I did on last Tuesday's to-do list, then figure out what I'd like to get done in the week ahead. The To-Do Tuesday link-up is hosted by Carol at Quilt Schmilt: For the Love of Fabric.

My list for last week was a short one, and I finished two of my goals, plus made progress on the third. I consider that a successful week!

To-Do List for 3/14 - 3/20
1. Project Quilting 14.6: Conquer a Fear--make something by Sunday ✔done
I made two randomly-pieced scrappy placemats, shared HERE.

2. Rainbow Scrap Challenge--cut for green Rail Fence blocks  progress
I've made a start on this cutting, but there's still more to be done.

3. Veteran's quilt--start piecing ✔done
Our quilt guild has joined forces with another quilting group to make quilts for homeless veterans, and I was able to attend a sewing day for this project last week. This is a portion of what I got done that day, working from an assortment of pre-cut charm squares. These are not fabrics from my stash, but a kit I was given for this project.

It's looking like another busy week, so I'm going to stick with a short list again.

To-Do List for 3/21 - 3/27
1. Ruler Quilting Challenge--keep up with the lessons
3. Rainbow Scrap Challenge--continue cutting greens for Rail Fence blocks and begin piecing.
4. Pickle Dish--cutting, maybe some piecing?

That's the plan for the week ahead. I'll report on my progress next Tuesday, and post a new set of goals too. I'm linking up with other To-Do Tuesday lists at Quilt Schmilt.

To-Do Tuesday 3/14/2023

It's time once again to share how I did on last Tuesday's to-do list, then figure out what I'd like to get done in the week ahead. The To-Do Tuesday link-up is hosted by Carol at Quilt Schmilt: For the Love of Fabric.

It was a better week for staying focused, and I managed to complete all of the items on my to-do list. It may have helped that two of those items had deadlines!

To-Do List for 3/7 - 3/13/23
1. Dust Off a Quilt Book project--finish quilt & write blog post for Friday ✔done
The quilting and binding was finished on Around the Twist, my project for the Dust Off a Quilt Book Blog Hop. You can read my post HERE.

2. Stay at Home Round Robin--add flying geese and pinwheel blocks; link up blog post by Monday  ✔done
I finished this quilt top and blogged about it HERE.

3. Quilt guild BOM--finish border #4, add border #5 ✔done
The next two borders on this quilt were completed yesterday. It now measures about 33" square. There are still two more borders to be added next month.

4. Rainbow Scrap Challenge--begin green blocks ✔done
Two green 16-Patch Stars blocks done and shared HERE.

I know that this week is going to be a busy one, so I'm trying to keep my list reasonable.

To-Do List for 3/14 - 3/20
1. Project Quilting 14.6: Conquer a Fear--make something by Sunday
2. Rainbow Scrap Challenge--cut for green Rail Fence blocks
3. Veteran's quilt--start piecing
One of the quilt guilds I belong to makes quilts for homeless veterans. I've had a kit for one sitting in my sewing room for nearly a month and need to spend some time working on it.

That's the plan for the week ahead. I'll report on my progress next Tuesday, and post a new set of goals too. I'm linking up with other To-Do Tuesday lists at Quilt Schmilt.
