This week was a good time to catch up with some of my projects for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. I've been cutting strips to make Rail Fence blocks in greens, our color of the month. I also finished three green Jabberwocky blocks.
The block design is called "Jabberwocky." It is a Judy Martin pattern from The Block Book. I believe the book is out of print, but available at a variety of on-line sources. The finished size of these blocks will be 10.25".
Here are all three colors we have used so far this year. I've enjoyed making these blocks. They are challenging, but very satisfying to finish.
Be sure to check out all of the wonderful scrappy projects at the Rainbow Scrap Challenge every Saturday, and at Oh Scrap! over at Quilting is more fun than Housework on Sunday.
Happy quilting everyone!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful blocks! And you've done such a nice job with them. This will be an amazing quilt!
ReplyDeleteThose are such pretty blocks! I love the way the different shades of color make them look three dimensional!
ReplyDeleteThose Jabberwocky blocks are gorgeous. I can understand that they might be challenging. Judy Martin likes a good challenge. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThe green blocks look great with your other blocks. This will be a terrific quilt!--TerryK@OnGoingProjects
ReplyDeleteI just left an anonymous comment saying how three-dimensional these blocks look and how challenging they look because of the partial seams, but then realized that perhaps they are y-seams. They are beautiful--very gem-like.

For some reason Blogger wouldn't let me sign in even though I accepted cookies. Don't know what that's about....
The blocks are really neat Julie - will be interesting to see more as you add additional colors! (Jennifer in Indy)
