It was time this week to get back to one of my projects for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. I made three red A Maze Zing blocks, with each block measuring 13.25" x 19.25". They might end up together in a quilt, or they might become a set of placemats.
Light red/red with white
Medium red
Dark red
Here are all three red blocks together. These big blocks are fun to make and go together pretty quickly. I'm thinking about making some out of Christmas fabrics that would definitely become placemats.
You can read more about my A Maze Zing project in my earlier post HERE.
Be sure to check out all of the wonderful scrappy projects at the Rainbow Scrap Challenge every Saturday, and at Oh Scrap! over at Quilting is more fun than Housework on Sunday.
Happy quilting everyone!

These Zings are amazing. They would make really neat placemats for sure.
ReplyDeleteThose are interesting blocks and have a great geometric modern look to them. I liked the quilt done on the designer's website where it was just one big block.
ReplyDeleteThose would make fun placemats! I'm looking forward to seeing all your colors together, too.
ReplyDeleteThose red blocks truly are amazing. I was impressed on the light block how you managed to align most of the polka dots on the white serpentine path.
ReplyDeleteBright, bold and lots of fun! Christmas fabrics would be really fun too.
ReplyDeleteI love those blocks! I thought that technique was fun and want to try it myself. I saw Candace on an episode of "The Quilt Show." ---TerryK@OnGoingProjects
