Stitching and DeStashing--Week 29, 2020

After making a pillow from my father's ties for Mother's Day, I realized that there was plenty of fabric left in the ties for another pillow or two. What better reason to make one than my sister's 60th birthday. She received her gift a few days ago, so now I can share the pillow here. Happy birthday Karen!

That pillow accounted for my only fabric usage last week, 1-1/8 yards. There was no new fabric added for the week, but I got an email last night that a recent order was being shipped, so I'm expecting an addition next week.

Used last week:                            1.125 yards
Used year to date:                       122.25 yards
Added last week:                              0.0 yards
Added year to date:                       34.75 yards
Net used year to date                87.50 yards

Kate's 15 Minutes to Stitch challenge at Life in Pieces has us tracking how many days each week we get in at least 15 minutes of quilting time. I've been a little obsessed with an old UFO that I pulled out last week, so I have been getting in plenty of quilting time every day.

15 Minute Challenge:
7/12 - 7/18               7 of 7 days
2020 Total          191 of 200 days

Happy quilting and stay safe everyone!

  2. Happy belated birthday to Karen. What a fun gift. You've done really well on the stash management this year and on getting in your stitching time every day. Since it's only midyear, you are going to have an awesome year on both fronts.

  3. Love the pillow. Did you have to deconstruct each of the ties before making the pillow?

  4. Oh my goodness! What special gifts for your mama and sister!! Very sweet....

  5. A lovely use of your father’s ties. Your sister must have been thrilled to receive such a thoughtful gift.

  6. What a great way to make the ties into something that will be enjoyed!

  7. Beautiful pillow and what a great use of ties!
