Last week I showed the beginnings of my first scrappy red block of May for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. I made two blocks with the Homespun pattern by Modernly Morgan, one in bright reds and the other in darker reds.
This pattern makes large blocks (16" finished), and they go together quickly. I'm still restraining myself from speeding ahead and making the rest of the colors that I will need for this quilt. In the meantime, here's a photo of all my blocks so far.
Be sure to check out all of the wonderful scrappy projects at the Rainbow Scrap Challenge every Saturday and at Oh Scrap! over at Quilting is more fun than Housework on Sunday.

Those are great blocks, and so pretty all together, too! I can see why you might want to just keep going with them.

ReplyDeleteGreat block. and they look gorgeous together.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blocks. And I really like the staggered layout. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely block pattern, Julie. I love your dotty background fabric. It’s a great contrast to all the different RSC colours you have used so far. What a super dramatic starry quilt you will have by the end of the year.
ReplyDeleteThese really look terrific. I'm impressed you don't speed ahead. Love the background fabric with these.
ReplyDeleteI love your blocks. I recognize the red Paula Nadelstern and the bright red leaves. I will be sad when I use the last scraps of those two fabrics.
ReplyDeleteYour star blocks are wonderful and the Tula Pink Fairy Dust background fabric is perfect. I wish I could afford to buy yards of it in every color.
