You might have noticed that the block on the left end is missing one blue square. That is true of all the blocks in that stack and is necessary to complete the circles in the Ring Cycles pattern. You can check out my progress in yesterday's post, or see the original pattern HERE.
It has been such fun pulling out some of my oldest blue scraps for these blocks. Each block only needs a strip that measures 1.5" x 7.5". I'm trying to make every block from a different fabric, and have only made one duplicate so far. I'm sure there are some more blue fabrics around here that I haven't used yet!

I am joining Kate at Life in Pieces in tracking the number of days each week that I spend at least 15 minutes quilting. The more days I quilt, the more quilts I can get done and the more fabric used.

Don't think of it as 'fabric added'. Instead think of it as 'stash enhancement'. I think that you like Kate and I spend more than 15 minutes quilting or piecing. My husband says that my studio is really a time warp chamber.
ReplyDeleteOh pretty blues--your rings quilt will be so pretty--nice pattern!! hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteI love the look of those blues for your rings. That is such a great pattern for using up one color family. I can see doing it in purples (I have lots), and greens too. Oh oh, don't get me thinking about it or before you know it, I'll be cutting my tiny scraps too.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea. Good luck inching closer to even. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of blues! Those little bits do add up, it just takes time. Congrats on finding time to stitch each day. It doesn't seem like it makes much of a difference, but when you get to the end of the week, it's amazing how much you can get done.
