Moving Along on Allietare

It was a lovely, relaxing weekend with plenty of time spent quilting. I spent most of Saturday afternoon doing some cleaning up in the sewing room, and I also started working on a new project. Best of all, I finished making all of the blocks and setting triangles for Allietare, Bonnie Hunter's 2015 mystery. Next I will begin joining the blocks together. It's my usual photo angle through a doorway, cutting off some of the blocks on the right side and the bottom.

I am very happy with how this quilt is turning out and had a great time doing Bonnie's mystery. Because I decided in advance to make a smaller version of the pattern, I made 2/3 - 3/4 of the number of units Bonnie's directions listed. It worked out very well and I have surprisingly few extra parts left over. Those leftovers will probably be incorporated into the back.

I will be sharing with the following linky parties.:

Design Wall Monday at Patchwork Times
Monday Making at Love Laugh Quilt
Scraptastic Tuesday at Mrs. Sew and Sow
WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced

  1. I've never made one of Bonnie's mystery quilts but watching everyone else make them is so much fun. Love your version!

  2. Wow! You're like the little engine that could! Seems as though you just whipped this up, but I know better. Lots of little pieces! It's gorgeous!

  3. This is a great interpretation of Allietare. And you are so close to a finished top. Is it a 4x5 setting of the stars? I'd like to do it too but not a huge one.

  4. I love the blue you used in place of the gray. It really brightens up the quilt.

  8. It's very pretty! I hope to start this one as soon as I finish the other two BH mysteries that I have in various states of "done-ness"!

  9. Your version looks fabulous! You kept up a lot better than I did, yours will soon be a finished flimsy.
