It was another very long, very stressful week at work, and next week will be more of the same. It's always tough when we are working on a huge show over the holidays. We are all trying to hang on until our four-day weekend for Christmas.
One way I am dealing with the stress from work is by squeezing in some time for quilting. My prime times for stitching are during the train ride to work in the mornings and while "watching" TV in the evenings. I was able to finish joining the last of the hexagons to the center medallion for a wall hanging. This was my first hexagon project ever, started in 2012. I plan to share more about this project in tomorrow's design wall post.
Kate's 15 Minutes to Stitch challenge at Life in Pieces has us keep track of how many days each week we are able to spend at least 15 minutes quilting. My hexie stitching added up to a 7-for-7 week!

I'm also joining up with Oh Scrap! at Quilting is more fun than Housework, since most of the fabrics in my hexie medallion were scraps/leftovers.

Amazing what can be accomplished in just 15 minutes each day!
ReplyDeleteLovely hexagon flower--you are really moving along on this one hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteYour EPP project is just gorgeous. Love it big time. ;^)
ReplyDeleteWe take any time we can find to work on our projects! TV time, train time, waiting rooms! When you love what you do...making time is essential!
ReplyDeleteI love that. It is on my list of things to do.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Good luck on the last hectic week - the end is in sight! I think I need to start that 15 minutes of stitching in the new year..... Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI sew to relieve stress too. Your hexie star is beautiful. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!
ReplyDeleteI only found 15 minutes once this week. Well done Julie. Those hexies are great.
ReplyDeleteLoving your hexie progress. It's always tricky this time of year, and having stress at work doesn't help. Glad the 15mins idea is working. I've run out of design wall now for my latest WiP, so I've decided it's time for me to just stop & get in the Christmas spirit!
ReplyDeleteYou've done so well at eeking out those stitching minutes with work being such a madhouse. Almost makes me wish I had a train ride in the morning rather than a drive to work. Hang in there, Christmas will be here very soon. Hope the load eases off after that. Love your hexies! Very pretty.
