Sunny Scraps

It's so nice when things work out the way you had hoped! I took a chance this week and got a jump on cutting pieces for some yellow and gold 3D Folded Corners blocks. Checked the new Rainbow Scrap Challenge post this morning, and our October color assignment is yellow and orange, the colors of a sunrise. Perfect!

I love using yellow in my rainbow quilts; it is so bright and cheery. Here are my little stacks of light, medium and dark yellow pieces, just waiting to be turned into blocks over the next couple of weeks.

Be sure to check out all of the wonderful scrappy projects at the Rainbow Scrap Challenge every Saturday and at Oh Scrap! over at Quilting is more fun than Housework on Sunday.

  2. Beautiful choices! Can't wait to see the blocks you'll make - such a wonderful pattern!
I also took a chance that yellow/gold would be the October color, since I had to pack for this trip in September. Whew! What a relief this morning when I saw what Angela had picked!

  4. Great colors! Like you, I got a jump on the yellows/gold when I finished off my vintage sheet rail fence quilt with 11 yellow blocks last month. Sometimes we just have to jump the gun, eh? Can’t wait to see your lovely blocks.

  7. I chose yellows, golds, and lime greens to finish out my LWR project - and hooray, the colors are right on target (well, maybe the lime greens are a bit over the top - but they work). Marvelous scraps in your photo!

  8. Hooray for hitting the jackpot! Looking forward to see what you do with those luscious colors. I wasn't so lucky this month. None of my UFOs with orange are far enough along to finish.

  11. I don't seem to see much yellow in quilts, but it's my favorite color!
I can't wait to get going on my blocks for this month.
