I knew that I wanted to start with the last fabric in the blocks in order to complete the design. I am considering two options, one with pieces of the green fabric alternating with the yellow, and the other has a single strip of the green. Both versions continue with the yellow, followed by the stripe for a final border. Here are the choices I am trying out:
Another option would involve finishing the quilt with 5 borders--green, yellow, stripe, more yellow, and finish with the green. Here is how that idea would look (except the green print on the final border would run horizontally instead of vertically.)
I might end up making two throw-size quilts with these blocks, one to keep and one to donate. If so, I could do different borders on each quilt and keep the version I like better. Now I just need to figure out if I have enough fabric left for these ideas.
I am linking up to Design Wall Monday at Patchwork Times where you can see all sorts of amazing quilting inspiration!

It's always fun to play around with the options, I like the last one best.
ReplyDeleteIt's so interesting how just rearranging the blocks changes the entire look. I like the last one best too.
ReplyDeleteI prefer the slab border made from the striped fabric.
ReplyDeletefun block designs, too many choices!
ReplyDeleteI like the last one best, too! Pretty!
ReplyDeleteWhat a difference the background makes - I like the green background better than the yellow because it makes the blocks seem to float more. I like the last border option the best.
ReplyDeleteI like the second one with the green then yellow - but what ever you choose that is going to be a great quilt!
ReplyDeleteThose are hard choices, I like them all. If I had to pick a favorite, it would have to be the second one.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great quilt! Did you decide which way to go? I like the green background where the blocks seem to float.
