The push to move more of my many rainbow quilts toward finished is continuing, and this week I have two quilt tops to share. One of my projects for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge in 2024 was Hollow 9-Patch blocks. I ended that year with around 80 blocks and joined some of them together in January, 2025.
Hollow 9-Patch #1, 40.5" x 53.5"
I had originally intended that to be a completed quilt top, but it always felt rather unfinished to me. Then I found this amazing fabric last year. It seemed like the perfect choice to be the border on a rainbow quilt.
Hollow 9-Patch #1, 48.5" x 62"
Here's a closer look at some of the blocks and the border fabric.
Hollow 9-Patch #2, 41" x 49.5"
These two quilt tops have now joined the collection in the To-Be-Quilted closet. I hope to get them finished soon, but there are many other quilt tops also waiting.
Be sure to check out all of the wonderful scrappy projects at the Rainbow Scrap Challenge every Saturday and Oh Scrap! over at Quilting is more fun than Housework on Sunday.
Happy quilting everyone!

These quilts are wonderful, Julie. I love them both. The crayon border is amazing. It finished the quilt so beautifully and effortlessly. I want an entire bolt of that print, lol. ;^)
ReplyDeleteI love the hollow 9 patches for RSC. Got to put that on my list and that border fabric is SO FANTASTIC !
ReplyDeleteBoth of those layouts are great for the Hollow-9 blocks! I may have to steal your idea someday. That border print is just perfection!!!
