It has been a busy week in the sewing room, which is normal around here. The part that is unusual is the fact that I finished assembling three different quilt tops this week. One was my colorwash "Terry" blocks, with over 500 blocks in the quilt. I need to get photos of that one and write a blog post. Another was a quilt top made last summer that I thought was done, but I decided to make it larger before I quilt it. I'm hoping to get that one quilted and finished in July.
The third quilt top completed this week was a Stack & Whack project made in preparation for a recent demonstration. All that needed to be done was adding the border. The main fabric is called "Galaxy Garden" by Jason Yenter for In the Beginning, and the date on the selvage says 2000! It makes a very bright baby quilt.

My stash usage for the week includes 3/4 yard for the border of the Galaxy Garden quilt top, plus 1/2 yard for the binding on my most recent finish, Chinese Coins. You can see that quilt HERE. No new fabric was added to the stash.

Since we are only a couple days from the mid-point of the year, I've been looking over my records for completions so far in 2025. I'm very happy to see that I've finished the same number of quilts so far this year (9) as the last two years combined. You can see them all on my Finished Quilts page. Granted, all of the finished quilts are on the small side, mostly baby quilts and wall hangings, but it still feels great to have them done. Four of them were UFO's, one of them dating back to 1998! I sure hope this finishing trend continues through the second half of the year.

Happy quilting everyone!

The stack and whack quilt is a lot of fun, very bright and bold. Congrats on all the finishes this year. It does feel good to get those older UFOs off the list. I'm not near where you are, but feel like I'm making progress.
