Spinning Boxes Progress

The blocks and sashing for my Spinning Boxes quilt have all been joined together. There are three sections, and I am considering doing some kind of quilt-as-you-go method for finishing this quilt. I'm undecided if I will cut the batting and backing along those diagonal splits or leave them whole. Also unsure about how or when to add the border. If anyone has any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated.

I am linking up with the Rainbow Scrap Challenge on Saturday and with Oh Scrap! over at Quilting is more fun than Housework on SundayBe sure to check out all of the wonderful projects that everyone is sharing!

  1. Looking gorgeous! The black sashing was definitely the way to go with those blocks. Sorry no suggestions for the quilting as you go.

  6. I've never done QAYG of any type. I'm often tempted to give it a try but have never quite gotten around to it. Good luck!

  7. This is a gorgeous quilt, I think I might want to copy this one. The black sashing really sets the blocks off.

  9. The thin black sashing really sets off those bright blocks. I am curious how you will quilt it. I have not QAYG anything except small projects. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!

  10. That quilt is looking fabulous. I really like the setting. Good luck with quilting as you go. I've never tried it. But I know some people swear by it.

  11. No suggestions for your quilting question. I, personally, avoid QAYG like the plague!! Wishing you lots of good luck on the process.
