I need to make a couple of baby quilts, and I have been wanting to use some of my 30's fabrics for them. Maybe this double pinwheel pattern would work for one of the baby quilts?
I thought I could use the multi-color plaid for all of the large pinwheels, and make the smaller pinwheels from the colors in that print. A 6" square of white plus a square of a print will make two of the small blocks. The large block in the photo above finishes at 8", and the smaller pinwheels are 4".
I am sharing with Design Wall Monday at Patchwork Times and Monday Making at Love Laugh Quilt.
That is a good lesson to take away today - blocks with two different sizes make a great combination! Both sets are lovely.
ReplyDeleteOh, you just gave me a wonderful idea on how to use the left over half-square triangles from the Minion quilt.
ReplyDeleteBoy, these blocks look great together! The 30's prints will make a great baby quilt in this design. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThose two tops (or start of tops) look great. Definitely it is great to use those cut off triangles rather than STORE them!
ReplyDeleteBoth versions look great. What a good idea for using up your extra HSTs.
