The blocks and sashing for my Spinning Boxes quilt have all been joined together. There are three sections, and I am considering doing some kind of quilt-as-you-go method for finishing this quilt. I'm undecided if I will cut the batting and backing along those diagonal splits or leave them whole. Also unsure about how or when to add the border. If anyone has any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated.

Looking gorgeous! The black sashing was definitely the way to go with those blocks. Sorry no suggestions for the quilting as you go.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Your top is luminous. I love the black border
ReplyDeleteThis is turning our beautifully..Hugs, julierose
ReplyDeleteStellar! I won’t bother to suggest anything, because YOU are the one with all the great ideas. Such a beautiful piece!
ReplyDeleteI love it! I've never done Quilt as you go, so no suggestions.
ReplyDeleteI've never done QAYG of any type. I'm often tempted to give it a try but have never quite gotten around to it. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteThis is a gorgeous quilt, I think I might want to copy this one. The black sashing really sets the blocks off.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors! I like that you put the blocks on the diagonal! Very striking!
ReplyDeleteThe thin black sashing really sets off those bright blocks. I am curious how you will quilt it. I have not QAYG anything except small projects. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!
ReplyDeleteThat quilt is looking fabulous. I really like the setting. Good luck with quilting as you go. I've never tried it. But I know some people swear by it.
ReplyDeleteNo suggestions for your quilting question. I, personally, avoid QAYG like the plague!! Wishing you lots of good luck on the process.
