The design wall has the center of my QOV Bowties quilt hanging on it while I consider border options. This photo shows about 80% of the blocks before they were joined together. The quilt would be big enough for a Quilt of Valor without any borders, but for some reason it seems to need something more.
I like the red print shown below as the outer border, but I am undecided on what to use for the inner border. Originally I didn't like the first version very well and wanted a fabric there with both red and blue in it. The second version has the red and blue stripe for the inner border, and I wonder if that looks too busy. (There is also the small problem that I don't have enough of that fabric.) I will have to ponder these choices a little longer.

ReplyDeleteHugs!!!!
You may want to consider using the background fabric as the inner border. I like your layout - good job.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt--lovely set...hugs, Julierose

ReplyDeleteI like the plain inner border, perhaps a navy as a stop?
ReplyDeleteDon't you hate when you have a great idea and not enough fabric? Love the bowties, with or without borders.
ReplyDeleteLike the offset centre and it is looking smashing!
ReplyDeleteMaybe use the plain, stripey and background all together in the narrow border strip round? That would stretch your fabric futher and all would still tie in with the design
Love the setting your chose for those block. Have you considered using the background fabric as your narrow border?
