Stash Report and Stitching Time 9/28/2025

For the first time this month, my stash report finally includes some fabric used! It's not a large amount, 2 yards for my finished Mondo Bag, but it feels good to have a finished project that was totally made from my stash.

In the good news/bad news category, I had a chance to do a little shopping at Hancock's of Paducah last week. It's always fun to get in there and see what's new, but it's usually bad news for my stash report.
Fortunately, I was able to restrain myself and ended up with only 4 yards added to the stash. The two turquoise pieces look very similar, but they are different fabrics. The bright dots fabric was bought to replace a similar piece that was recently used up.

2025 STASH TOTALS
Used last week:                   2.0 yards
Used year to date:            50.25 yards
Added last week:                 4.0 yards
Added year to date:        62.375 yards
Net added in 2025:    12.125 yards

Kate's 15 Minutes to Stitch Challenge at Life in Pieces has us tracking how many days each week we get in at least 15 minutes of quilting time. The visit to Hancock's last week was part of a long weekend trip to St. Louis, which cut into my quilting time a bit. There was one day during that time away from home that I didn't do any quilting.

Mondo Bag Finished!

I have a finish! This is my Mondo bagwhich was started a couple weeks ago in a guild workshop led by Martha, one of our members. Most of my fabrics were leftovers from a previous project, all of them batiks. This photo gives a hint of how big this bag is--it is hanging in front of a louvered panel that measures 15" across. The body of the bag is made from 192 squares that were cut at 2.5".

The lining  was cut from stash yardage of a dark blue mottled batik. I included two contrast pockets inside plus a key clip. The lining color is lighter in the photo than in real life because I had to use a flash for the interior photo.

Here's a closer look at the batiks used for the outside of the bag.

I've already got a few things loaded up in my new bag, ready to take it to our next guild meeting on Thursday. I keep thinking about other color combinations that I could put together for the next one!

Stash Report and Stitching Time 9/14/2025

Once again, there were no changes to my stash numbers for the past week. I finished the Mondo bag that I shared in last week's post, but I'm holding off on reporting the fabric used until I get some photos and write up my blog post about it. I didn't buy any new fabric last week, but I did get a new pattern for an upcoming class that I hope to attend.

This is Mobius Radial by Audrey Esarey, a well-known modern quilter. Check out her website HERE. I'm on the waitlist for the workshop at the end of the month, and I really hope there will be an opening for me. If not, I'll just have to make it on my own at home.

Kate's 15 Minutes to Stitch Challenge at Life in Pieces has us tracking how many days each week we get in at least 15 minutes of quilting time. I worked on a wide variety of projects last week, including finishing the Mondo bag, making a batch of blocks for my Temperature quilt, and starting the machine quilting on a kid's quilt.

Stash Report and Stitching Time 9/7/2025

There are no changes to my stash report for the past week. Our guild held a Mondo bag workshop on Friday, and I was able to pull together a collection of scraps and other fabrics from my stash for that project, but I still need to add up the total usage once I get my bag done. Here are some of the fabrics used for the bag.

Kate's 15 Minutes to Stitch Challenge at Life in Pieces has us tracking how many days each week we get in at least 15 minutes of quilting time. I've been busy catching up on guild business, but I did finish a couple more of the applique blocks that were prepped before our recent trip, plus I attended the Mondo bag workshop. I hope to share that as a finished project very soon.
