My design wall is filling up with my most recent new project, the Quilt of Valor bowties. These were started a little over a week ago as leaders and enders for a costume project that I have been working on, but there have been times when I just want to sit down and make a few more bowties. They are so quick & easy!
There are 36 blocks made so far, and they will finish at 6". I am planning to make 80 blocks and set them 8 x 10 plus borders to get the required size for a QOV. The background fabric is left over from backing my most recent red, white & blue quilt, and the bowties are all from stash fabrics. I will be playing with different arrangements of blocks later.
I am linking up to Design Wall Monday at Patchwork Times where you can see all sorts of quilting inspiration!

This quilt is wonderful. The background fabric is perfect for the scrappy bowties. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI too use bow ties as enders and have the same thing happen. I was sewing some mix and match bow ties together for a small lap quilt that will go to a nursing home. You get extra gold stars for having a coordinated background fabric! Nice job.
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be a beautiful QOV. Isn't it fun how fast leaders and enders can make blocks seem to just appear?
ReplyDeleteI really love scrappy QOV, very nice blocks. Now for the layout fun!
