My sewing room has been overtaken by red scraps, thanks to the new project I started last week. I finished nine blocks by the end of the day on Sunday.
I call this design "Ring Around the Stars" because of the impression of circles formed by the little white squares. The blocks can be straight set, as shown above, but I prefer the look of the stars on point as below.
My blocks will finish at 9". I'm planning a quilt with 16 of the star blocks, so there is quite a bit of stitching still to be done. I think I have finished most of the cutting.
Check out what other quilters are working on this week at Design Wall Monday at Small Quilts and Doll Quilts.
Happy quilting everyone!

Lookin' good, Julie!
ReplyDeleteLove what you did with your red pieces. I have a load of leftover red pieces from working on the Ruby Jubilee project by Quiltmaker Mag this year. This is definitely an idea worth saving.
ReplyDeleteThat is SO pretty!!! The ring around the stars just looks so cool!!!
ReplyDeleteAs I just commented to Sara, red-and-white is such a snappy combination. I especially like the negative/positive color placement.
ReplyDeleteWow!! That is gorgeous! Red is definitely one of my favorite colors.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteVery bold and bright. It's a great setting for those blocks.
