Monday is our last opportunity to link up with Bonnie Hunter's 2017 mystery "On Ringo Lake." Bonnie revealed her finished quilt on New Year's Day, and it is gorgeous! There hasn't been much progress on mine, but I'm excited to share what has gotten done.
I've finished eight blocks so far. None of the sashing units are stitched together yet, just hanging out on the design wall. I'm planning to make one change to Bonnie's pattern--where she had brown squares as the cornerstones for the sashing, which would translate to black squares on mine, but instead I am going to use red squares. I wanted to punch up the amount of red in the center of the quilt. No idea if I will follow her pattern for the setting triangles or make changes to that too. My current plan is to make a smaller quilt than Bonnie's, maybe 32 blocks instead of 50.
Your colors are striking! It is going to be a gorgeous quilt!

Your colors are lovely,
ReplyDeleteThis is so gorgeous! I love how the red pops against the rest of the fabrics.
ReplyDeleteSo, so pretty. I love the gray, black and red.
ReplyDeleteI like your choice of the red for the cornerstones - it really does make the red shine. Your quilt is going to be stunning!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colour way. The colour of the cornerstones was the only thing I changed on mine too.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, LOVE the Mystery in the colors you chose!! Looking forward to seeing what you decide to do with the borders.
ReplyDeleteI do love your colour scheme. I downloaded the pattern but I am still debating what colours I want and I think the black, red and grey would work for me. But then again, I might go with the original colours and give it away as a wedding gift.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt will be beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThese blocks are gorgeous! Great job!
ReplyDeleteLove your colorway!
ReplyDeleteI love the colors you chose! I wish I had swapped my green ad my grey.
ReplyDeleteI really like how your fabric selections worked out. Using red for the corner stones looks good. I'm contemplating the same thing for my version.
