My indecision right now is whether the colorful stripe should be narrower. It's hard to see in the photo, but I have pinned the right side border to cover up part of that stripe and see if that improves things. Maybe some close-ups would help show what I mean.
In the top left corner, the colorful borders finish at 1". On the right side of the final photo, that border is about 1/2". I will continue to ponder changing this and appreciate any opinions or suggestions.

I vote for small. in the larger photo your eye is drawn to the bright border and not the beautiful blocks you made. Love this quilt!
ReplyDeleteI agree with QuiltSwissy... exactly what I was going to say. Great quilt!!
ReplyDeleteOMGoodness, your stars are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYep, definitely smaller. The bright border is the first thing your eye goes to neglecting these gorgeous stars. I think part of the allure of the bigger stripe is it isn't a typical stripe and I'm busy checking out what it really is rather than checking out your cool stars. Are you planning to bind it with that cool stripe fabric?
ReplyDeleteyou are on the right track - it is gorgeous. The smaller stripe is very cool !
ReplyDeleteI'm with everyone else - the narrow one looks better to me. But I try to stay out of border disputes - I get all weird and then my head explodes.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt!
ReplyDeleteI love your star blocks and for what it's worth, I was drawn to the wider border :)
ReplyDeleteI vote for the thinner strip, your star are to pretty to be ignored
ReplyDeleteSmaller is definitely better, but the striped inner border seems to be too bright and takes away from all the beautiful work you did on your stars. They don't "pop" anymore. What about something like a dark red border instead? Just my humble thoughts . . . you are the one who has to be happy with it.
ReplyDeleteThey are all such pretty stars. I love the rainbow colors.
