15 Minutes and Stash Report Sunday 5/27/18

I had a finish this week, my Wonky Log Cabins quilt for the Hands 2 Help Challenge, but most of the fabric had already been counted in previous stash reports. All I can report as used for that project is 3/8 yards for the binding. I also used another 3/8 yard for my pink Scraptastic Stars, which showed up in yesterday's post

In honor of Memorial Day weekend, I pulled out my red, white & blue Moda Blockheads blocks and got one of them put together. I will calculate fabric used once a few more blocks are completed, but here is the block I made yesterday. Check out all those little triangles! This block finishes at 6", so the triangles measure only 3/4" across. That's about as small as I can handle.

Used year to date:            25.25 yards
Added last week:                  0.0 yards
Added year to date:              8.0 yards

Kate's 15 Minutes to Stitch challenge at Life in Pieces has us tracking how many days each week we get in at least 15 minutes of quilting time. Work has calmed down quite a bit, which makes it easier to have the energy for quilting in the evening. I need to come up with a new hand-stitching project that I can work on during my morning train ride to work.

15 Minute Challenge:
5/20 - 5/26            7 of 7 days
2018 Total       142 of 146 days

  2. Love that red and white background fabric. I don't think I could manage blocks that small. I followed the blockheads posts, but quickly decided the smallness and the applique blocks were beyond my abilities. Your red, white, and blue star is super.

  3. Way to go on your time spent days! You are staying well into the black on using, but it will take forever with tiny blocks like the Moda Blockheads #11. LOL It's a gorgeous block, but the only way I'm making it is to make it a 12" block. Those piece are too small for my fat little fingers! LOL You did a wonderful job on those points! I can't believe blogger let that viagra spam into your blog comments!

  4. That's some small HSTs in that block. It looks fun, love the red, white and blue. Congrats on finding time to sew all 7 days this week. You do so well at finding that stitching time every day.
