Design Wall Monday

When I sat down to write this blog post, I was very surprised to discover that my last Design Wall Monday post was from the end of April. Wow, what happened to May?! I've been working on several different quilt projects since then, but never got around to sharing my works in progress.

The Memorial Day holiday weekend inspired me to pull out my red, white & blue Moda Blockheads blocks. This was a block-of-the-week program that started in March, 2017 and ran until January, 2018. Six different Moda designers took turns sharing their block designs. I didn't start making blocks until June of last year, and they get worked on very sporadically. Several blocks got finished over the past week, and I decided to see how they all look together. The blocks all finish at 6".

Blockheads 2 will be starting in just a few days. I haven't decided if I will continue making RWB blocks to add to this group, or if I will start with a whole new color scheme. Check out the Moda blog on Wednesday, June 6th if you want to join the fun.

I'm linking up to Design Wall Monday at Small Quilts and Doll Quilts, Monday Making at Love Laugh Quilt, and Moving It Forward at Em's Scrapbag.  Be sure to check out all of the wonderful projects that everyone is sharing!

  3. Your blocks are beautiful, but the name they gave this quilt is atrocious! "Blockhead" reminds me of the Peanuts comic book strip and that awful Lucy character calling Charlie Brown a blockhead all the time. :-( I think we should rename your quilt "Lucy Is a Mean Girl." ;-)

  4. You've got some fun blocks up on the design wall. Have fun working out the setting for all of these. Hard to go wrong with RWB!

  7. Nice blocks, the red white and blue unifies them nicely.
