Stash Report and Stitching Time 1/22/2023

It's another double blogpost day for me--check out my entry for this week's Project Quilting Challenge 14.2 "Pink Tint" in this post.

It has been a very busy week in my sewing room, with way too many different projects happening. I'm nearly done with the Ruby Challenge quilt. I just have to finish stitching the binding to the back side, then get some photos and submit my entry by midnight on Tuesday.

Some of the projects of the week have shown up in earlier posts: the blue 16-Patch Stars and the Jabberwocky blocks in my Rainbow Scrap Challenge post yesterday, and the pink placemat for Project Quilting listed at the top. One of the other things I've been stitching was this bird block for a quilt guild friend.

I also made a block for the same guild's quilt along. This will be the center of a medallion style quilt. I'm planning to use all batiks for this quilt. The pattern is "Star Cluster," and it was a quilt along at the National Quilt Museum in 2020. The pattern is still available at their website HERE. Look for "Quilt Along 2020."

Altogether, the many different projects from the past week added up to 1.75 yards of fabric used (seems like it should have been more!) I had my first new fabric added to the stash this week too. These are from "Daisy Talk" by Blank Quilting, designed by Diane Knott. Diane was the speaker at our guild meeting on Thursday and also taught a workshop in the afternoon. I'm thinking that stripe will make the perfect binding on a rainbow quilt.

Kate's 15 Minutes to Stitch Challenge at Life in Pieces has us tracking how many days each week we get in at least 15 minutes of stitching time. I've been bouncing around between projects all week, but have definitely gotten more than 15 minutes of quilting time every day.
