Stash Report and Stitching Time 7/28/2024

My stash of teal, turquoise and aqua scraps has taken over the sewing room this week. Those are the assigned colors of the month for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge, and they are some of my favorite colors to use for quilting. I used a total of 3.5 yards from the stash, and most of the projects were shared in yesterday's post. That includes 2.25 yards for the Herringbone baby quilt top, 1/2 yard for a placemat from the Herringbone scraps, and 3/8 yard for my Hen & Chicks sampler blocks.

One more set of blocks was finished later yesterday. These are my July blocks for Jen's 2024 Color Challenge. I realized after they were done that her planned color this month was silver, but I was obsessed with all of the blue-green goodness when I cut them out. Maybe I'll substitute silver on a later month when she has planned to use teal.

Kate's 15 Minutes to Stitch Challenge at Life in Pieces has us tracking how many days each week we get in at least 15 minutes of quilting time. The Herringbone baby quilt took up most of my quilting time last week, and it was a fun challenge to figure out how to make it.

  1. You have some beautiful teal fabrics. Those blocks look so crisp. Great metrics for 2024. I've done great on the stitching, but I'm still in the red on the fabric stash metrics for the year. Oh well, at least it's just double digits this year.
