Over the past several weeks, I've shared progress photos of my latest quilt project. This will be my entry for a guild challenge at the end of this month, and today I can share my completed quilt top.
56" x 56"
Check out the fabric at the very center of this photo--tiny little sewing machines! (The photo should enlarge if you click on it.)
The pattern that I made is one that I call Ring Around the Stars, and I have made a few different versions of it over the years. I'm trying to come up with a clever name for this quilt that combines Ruby with that pattern name, but haven't come up with a winner yet.
My One Monthly Goal for January is to finish this quilt. The top and the back are both prepped, and I have been testing out some possible quilting designs. Now I need to get it layered and start the quilting. I just looked up the challenge info on the guild website and discovered that we have to submit a photo of our challenge entry four days before the guild meeting. It's time for me to get moving!

Lovely quilt! The guild challenge is very clever--love the idea of including 40 of something. You'll easily make your goal I think. The hardest part for me is choosing a quilting motif and you've already started on that! Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.
ReplyDeleteThat's just gorgeous, Julie! I definitely love the sewing machine fabric. Is there a prize for the challenge? I'm thinking you'll win it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work and good choice to use 40 reds. Love your pattern.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt. All of the reds work well together and the design is stunning. I found you on Sarah's Can I Get A Whoop Whoop linky.
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt!! Of course I love red so what's not to love and that little sewing machine fabric is so cute.
ReplyDeleteWow! This is a beautiful quilt. The reds just sing together and the white stars really shine.
ReplyDeleteRing around the Rubies might be a good name for this gorgeous piece!
ReplyDeleteIt looks amazing. Very well done, Julie. Bravo! ;^)
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome quilt! It's sure to be a winner.
ReplyDeleteFabulous ruby quilt. You definitely met the challenge with your design and fabric choices.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous red and white quilt! I think you've met the challenge
ReplyDeleteOh that is stunning!! Ruby Stars?
ReplyDeleteOh, that is wonderful! What a wonderful quilt to show off!
ReplyDeleteI've admired this since the first photos. It's a beauty!
ReplyDeleteOMG, I'd say you nailed this challenge!! Having worked on red and white quilts for this past holiday season, I am absolutely loving this one. Had to laugh as I have that same sewing machine fabric but in gray! This looks like it was a great stashbuster.
