Stitching and DeStashing--Week 5, 2021

As we reach the end of January, my stash report still shows up as being in the red (more fabric added than used) thanks to a large purchase earlier this month. I have been making progress at chipping away at the total, and last week was a good one. I can report usage on three different quilts, all of them projects that I have been working on as part of the Rainbow Scrap Challenge.

My usage for last week was 3/8 yard for the Sew Colorful Stars block (the large block at the center of the photo,)
3/4 yard for the pink and black Glorified 9-Patch blocks shown top and bottom, and 1 yard for my daily Bowtie blocks (there are more of these that aren't in the photo). You can read more about these projects  and see additional photos in yesterday's post. Altogether, 2.125 yards used, and no new fabric has been added.

2021 STASH TOTALS
Used last week:                          2.125 yards
Used year to date:                       9.625 yards
Added last week:                             0.0 yards
Added year to date:                      11.50 yards
Net added year to date             1.875 yards

Kate's 15 Minutes to Stitch challenge at Life in Pieces has us tracking how many days each week we get in at least 15 minutes of quilting time. I continue to juggle several projects at a time, switching back and forth depending on whether I feel like cutting or stitching. I'm still at 100% on stitching time for the month!

15 Minute Challenge for 2021:
1/24 - 1/30               7 of 7 days
2021 Total             30 of 30 days

Happy quilting everyone!

  1. You are one of the most consistent users of fabric that I see in the links. You will be back in the black soon.

  2. I have taken in twice as much as I have sewn up! I need to get a rein on the buying. But then, I do have a lot of nice things to use in future projects, so it's all good!

  3. I'm sure you'll catch up with your fabric in at some point this year. You did so well on the stash management last year. So are you not going to count Grassy Creek blocks till you finish the quilt?
