It's Rainbow Scrap Challenge day, time to share what we are making in medium and dark blues. My newest additions to the Spinning Boxes blocks are shown along with the light blue block from January.
Here are my 18 blocks in all the colors we have used so far. It looks like we will be using dark greens for October. It sure is a cheery, colorful collection!
All along, I have been liking the way these blocks look set on point. Last weekend I auditioned a few options for setting triangles--a white background with rainbow colors, all rainbow colors print, and rainbow colors on black background. Click on any of the photos for a closer view. I'm not sure any of these is quite what I'm looking for, but it was fun to play with some possibilities. I also want to see how they look with sashing between the blocks.
I am linking up with the Rainbow Scrap Challenge on Saturday and at Oh Scrap! over at Quilting is more fun than Housework on Sunday. Be sure to check out all of the wonderful projects that everyone is sharing!

The blocks are such fun! I particularly like the third (black print) setting triangles. This will be such a fun, happy quilt!
ReplyDeleteOf these three, I like the black best. In the end the quilt will tell you what it needs. I like this block and may use it for next year's RSC.
ReplyDeleteThat is a really cheerful and pretty collection of blocks! It's so interesting how much the look of the quilt changes with the different setting triangle choices.
ReplyDeleteyou always pick terrific blocks. Love these
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blocks! Love the fabrics in them!
ReplyDeleteThese are great blocks, but such bright colours, try them with a tone on tone black print and see if you like that?
ReplyDeleteIt may not be what you are looking for, but I absolutely LOVE the way the black-background multi print seems to really make your blocks POP!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is a very fun set of blocks. I can't decide if I like the white with the dots or the black with the dots better. Good luck with that decision.
ReplyDeleteYou have such splendid blocks and ideas!
ReplyDeleteLove the colour of your blocks - I prefer the 3rd background option, up to now :)
ReplyDeleteHmmm. . .not that you asked, but I like the black print best. Have you tried a tone on tone? Or maybe a gray or a pale color. There's a lot going on in the blocks and less busy setting triangles might really set them off. The project looks great so far!
ReplyDeleteLovely blocks. It is hard to pick a favorite but I know your choice will be perfect. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blocks. I really like the dark background rainbow print for setting triangles.
ReplyDeleteYour blocks are terrific, I love seeing all the colors together. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love! So bright and cheery!
ReplyDeleteI like options #1 and #3! These blocks look great!
