Stash Report and Slow Stitching Sunday

No fabric in or out on the stash report for the last week. I've been doing plenty of cutting and stitching, but haven't gotten anything far enough along to count the fabric as used. Maybe next week I can get some blocks finished and do the math to figure out my usage.

2017 STASH TOTALS
Used last week:               0.0 yards
Used year to date:        62.50 yards
Added last week:              0.0 yards
Added year to date:         8.25 yards

Net used year to date:  54.25 yards

I am continuing to join Kate at Life in Pieces in tracking how many days each week I manage to get in at least 15 minutes of quilting time. I'm back to stitching every single day and hope to continue that way through rest of the month.

15 Minute Challenge:
8/6 - 8/12                 7 of 7 days
2017 Total          218 of 224 days

I try to always keep a hand-stitching project ready to go. My usual time to stitch is on my train ride to work in the mornings, but there are also days when I do some stitching at home in the evening. My current project is from a class with Edyta Sitar in 2013, the Dresden Star. I have eight star blocks pieced and have started appliqueing them to the background squares. Each will also get a blue circle appliqued to the center.

Check out more stash reports at quiltpaintcreate, and add your own report so we can keep this linky going. I'm also linking up to Slow Stitching Sunday at Kathy's Quilts and Oh Scrap! at Quilting is more fun than Housework.

  2. Love the blocks. Dresdens, in all their variations, are one of my favorite block patterns.

  4. I have the fabric to make the Edyta's Dresden Star, just don't get to it. These Stars do inspire me though . . . someday!

  5. Stunning blocks, very precisely worked. The blue centers will be a standout. Go for it!

  6. Beautiful dresden star. Are the stars hand pieced? Please tell me they are done by machine!! You've been really good controlling how much fabric you are bringing in. What's you secret?

  7. Your Dresden Stars are so pretty. It is important to get a little stitching in each day even just to say you had 15 minutes of relaxation.

  8. The Dresden Stars are beautiful! You've done so well at making time to stitch this year. If you are stitching every day it won't be long before you have more going out.
