I've been participating in the Rainbow Scrap Challenge since 2013 and always enjoy all the sharing of beautiful rainbow quilt projects. This year I have been slow at deciding whether I am going to start a new project for 2017. I might concentrate on finishing up some of the quilts from past years instead (you can see them in last week's post HERE.)
When I had the urge to do some scrappy stitching this week, I pulled out some blocks that were started back in 2015. I have a whole drawer full of 3" strips from a strip exchange in a guild, and I would love to clear some of them out. I've been using Bonnie Hunter's Scrappy Trips Around the World pattern, just changing the measurements to work with my 3" strips instead of the 2.5" that Bonnie uses. The finished size of my blocks is 15".
Be sure to check out all of the wonderful scrappy projects at the Rainbow Scrap Challenge every Saturday and at Oh Scrap! over at Quilting is more fun than Housework on Sunday.

ReplyDeleteI really NEED to make this quilt!!! It's been on my list for more than 2 years now and I'm tired of waiting. SEW smart of you to adjust the pattern to work with your scraps!!
ReplyDeleteScrappy Trips will be a fun block for RSC. Can't wait to see where it leads you!
ReplyDeleteBonnie's Scrappy Trips Around the World is on my quilting bucket list. Can't wait to see how yours develop :)
ReplyDeleteScrappy Trips is a fun block, and at 3", you'll have a quilt top before you know it!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun blocks you are creating with your scraps. Will they all be purple? That would make a wonderful little baby girl quilt.
ReplyDeleteGreat block choice for RSC! I really like them in purple. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty purple blocks!

ReplyDeleteVery pretty purples. I have some blocks started for the same pattern. Love the colors in these.
