I didn't get much stitching done on blocks for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge this week, just one more Scrappy Trips block in purple. I decided to take a look at the blocks I've made so far and see how they look together.
I'm using Bonnie Hunter's Scrappy Trips Around the World pattern, but changing the measurements to work with my 3" strips instead of the 2.5" that Bonnie uses. The finished size of my blocks is 15", so it won't take many blocks to have enough for a throw quilt. When I started making these blocks, I was trying to do a gradation of color from light to dark in each block, but later I gave up on that idea. Now that I see them on the wall together, I think maybe I will go back to shading the colors.

I like the light to dark color arrangement too. It give the blocks nice dimension.

ReplyDeletelooking great so far! and the great thing about scraps is that they all end up looking lovely- no matter how you put them toghether...
ReplyDeleteI like the light to dark gradation too! Pretty blocks!
ReplyDeleteThese blocks are going to make a great top. I agree about keeping the gradation look going - very cool.
ReplyDeleteThe gradation of color is very nice, adds movement to the whole arrangement. The color just glows from the orange. A winner all around.
ReplyDeleteOhhhh I like!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou have a great sense of movement in the gradations, and some more than others is a nice touch. Can't wait to see the finish.
ReplyDeleteThey look very pretty together, three inch strips should really help to use up your scraps.
ReplyDeleteYour colors are so rich and luscious. Your quilt is going to sing!
ReplyDeleteNice set of blocks! I really MUST start my own Scrappy Trips soon.
