One of my projects is the appliqued circles that I have been making for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. All the blocks are made, and I have started joining them together. I got carried away one evening and wasn't being as careful as I should to make sure I was getting my corners matched up. I might go back and make some small corrections before I continue. So far there are three groups of blocks that have been joined together that run from top left to lower right in the photo. The two big triangle areas still need to have the blocks stitched together.
Last weekend I took a Hexie Bootcamp class at a local quilt shop. Those of you who have been reading my blog for awhile might wonder why I would take a class since you know that I started making a hexie quilt for the RSC in 2013-14. My hexie efforts up til now have been self taught, mostly from reading blogs and watching some videos. I enjoyed the face-to-face time in class and got some tips for joining my hexie stars and snowflakes together. Here is my planned layout for the center of the quilt, but I still need to decide about the outer edges.

Didn’t you do that quilt last year or the year before, too? I only know because I just saved a copy to my inspiration file earlier this morning. It is beyond gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteThe circle quilt is really coming together. It's looking spectacular. I'd forgotten about your hexie stars and snowflakes. I really like the setting you are planning. I'm stuck on what to start for next year's RSC, too. I may have to start more than one.
ReplyDeleteLOVE your circles project and kudos on the hexies.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see that circles quilt all done - it's so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThat hexie layout looks great! When I was growing up, the only hexie quilts I ever saw were Grandmother's Flower Gardens, which never really interested me. Now people are doing such fabulous things with hexies!
Your circle quilt is amazing! Love your idea for next year too.
ReplyDeleteSo exciting to see the circles quilt coming together. What a great plan for the stars and snowflakes hexies!
ReplyDeleteI am so, so pleased to see your appliquéd circles coming together on the design wall - it really is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteYour Circle quilt is one of my favorite projects of the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. Congrats! on making such good progress with the assembly.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely plan!
ReplyDeleteNarrowing down the choices for next year is not easy, but at least you have some time to ponder your options while you finish off the projects for this year.
ReplyDeleteWOW and WOW!
ReplyDeleteGreat progress and all the colors look fine. The snowflake pattern is so delicate, a nice change from flower gardens. I would love to see it done. Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteOk, your circle quilt is over the moon gorgeous! Great job on color placement. Thanks for sharing it with Oh Scrap!
ReplyDeleteGreat plan for the hexies. The circle quilt is going to be a stunner (which I've probably said before!).
ReplyDeleteThe circle quilt is going to be awesome.
