Another group of blocks have been joined into this second top. This one includes a scrappy pieced border and will get a final wider border of the grey solid.
The fabrics in these blocks all came from many bags of scraps that date back several decades when our mother used to make clothing for all of us. We've had such a good time reminiscing about the garments that were made from these wonderful prints.

What a wonderful setting for an assortment of scrappy strips! The solid (or reads-as-solid) gray sashing creates a calm frame. Great job!

ReplyDeleteHow wonderful! To have your memories made into such fun quilts. And I agree with Nan, too. If only I had kept the scraps from when I made clothes for my two daughters. I didn't quilt back then and just threw them away. I know.... the Horrors!!

ReplyDeleteInteresting to see the different settings for these lovely quilts, and what fun to make with your sister. My first quilt ever was scraps from clothes my mum made for us: I still enjoy looking at it and remembering all various dresses they came from.
