My design wall hasn't changed much this week. On the left is the Storm at Sea quilt. I love the way this quilt is coming together, but I just haven't had enough time to get the remaining parts for it made. I would love to finish up and get this one together.
The blocks on the right are from the monthly scrap club at Intown Quilters in Decatur, GA. The upper star has been pieced together with the background. I had some trouble getting the seams to line up at the center, but otherwise it looks good. I love the bright blue ring around the center.
Everything looks great (you could send the Storm to me when it is done). I have found that I push myself to keep up with some of the more productive people I read online and I need to stop that and move at my own pace, or maybe just a little faster. ;-)
I think I've already said how much I like your Storm at Sea, but the new scrap work it terrific, too. I've only been to Intown once or twice, but it made a BIG impression on me, I must get back there.
I have said it before and I will say it again, that storm at sea is awesome! I am loving the border. I like the scrap blocks too... Are those cut from string sets? I wish I lived closer to Intown, it is such a fun shop. I can't complain over here in Marietta being near Tiny Stiches and Little Quilts, both more traditional in feel. We used to have Red Hen too but they have disappeared. I can't wait to see the Storm top finished.
Great work on both projects! I'm envious!
ReplyDeleteI love the borer for your storm at sea, just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLove your Storm at Sea top.
ReplyDeleteGreat projects! I love the way that inner blue ring highlights your string stars. And the border on your Storm at Sea is just amazing!!!

ReplyDeleteStorm at Sea is amazing. That quilt will be an eye catcher. Your string star blocks are great. Each will have a different ring, do you think??
